Other Ministries
Timing Kwok leads SSI in using many different kinds of activities like rowing, canoeing, dragon boat races, and fishing outings as tools to reach the youth in H.K. We regularly go to and arrange outreaches at drug rehab centers, a boys' detention center, and Timing leads a church youth rowing team.
Once a week, Timing goes to a Christian drug rehab center as a volunteer P.E. teacher. He teaches the men different sports like basketball, soccer, water sports, hiking, and fishing. Sports help instill discipline and encourage them that they can set goals for themselves, and it is great to get to know the guys and share our faith with them.
The Shatin Boys Home has been a great place for us to minister and use overseas missions teams. Timing regularly teaches rowing, soccer, and other sports there with the boys. We arrange special sports days for them and share the gospel message. The boys usually stay for 6 months and then are released again back to regular life, so we have a great opportunity to share with many boys that need God's hope and direction on their lives.
The church rowing team has been a great ministry for Timing. He is able to really get to know the young people involved and be a mentor to them. The team is not only learning rowing and about God, but also using the team to share the gospel.
